My name is Deanna Carman and I would like you to know a little bit about the person to whom you may be entrusting your quilt for its finishing touches.
I grew up on a family farm in northwestern Marion county in Indiana. I graduated from Pike High School before earning degrees in elementary education from Indiana State University and Ball State University. After a 36 year career teaching kindergarten, I am thrilled to pursue my second career as a quilter. But this is hardly the beginning of my quilting!
My sister introduced me to quilting in the mid-1970's and I was soon bitten by the bug. My first quilt was a Grandmother's Fan which took me several years to complete. I have since created more than 50 quilts ranging from baby quilts to king size.
I have always been intrigued by early American living, enjoy nature and love to work in my flower gardens. Combining my love for early Americana, gardening and quilting, I came up with my "retirement" plan-- A QUILTER'S GARDEN!
